Portable Deck Unit

The SST Portable Deck Unit IV is the fourth generation of deck units for the workman or scientist in the field. This handy device for indoor and outdoor use in harsh environments meets the IP66 standard.
A sensors or a probe can be connected via serial lines or analogue inputs. The probes are powered by the PDU as a standard. The obtained sensor data are displayed on a backlighted 5.7” LC-Display in various user-defined configurations, e.g. in large letters to be seen from several meters apart.

The sampled data can be stored on the internal solid-state non-volatile FLASH–disk with a capacity of 6 MB, sufficient for more than 300000 CTP-datasets including time stamps, i.e. more than 13 hours of continuous storage. (higher capacity on request) The stainless steel metal case is suitable for field use. The internal battery has a capacity sufficient for more than 8 hours* of continuous  work (incl. backlight) in the field with a typical probe connected.

Four large keys and an easy "select and click" menu system are designed to be operated by users under field conditions. The menu system is very similar to that of the supplied SST-SDA Windows®- software package that is used to download the stored data to a PC and subsequent textual or graphical presentation of the obtained data. An export of the binary data files to readable ASCII-text files for further data handling can be configured to meet the needs of standard office software.

An (optional) analogue 4 to 20 mA current loop output can be scaled to a selectable setting for the connected sensor.
